cheap tire carrier for 35's

somewhere on here I saw a decent looking tire carrier for around 170. But I'll be darned if I can find it anyone have any idea of where it is. Thanks in advance!

The problem with the JKs isn't the hinges, it's the structural strength of the tailgate and the way the stock tire carrier is mounted to it. My 33s, at about 90 lbs apiece, had started to pop the spot welds from bouncing along the trails.

The Smittybilt/Bestop tire carriers are the only ones that I've seen for under $200. I ran the Smitty for about 16 months. It should work fine if you are only doing occasional fire roads. I switched to the OR Fab tire carrier. It's one of the most affordable options I could find. The base tire carrier is about $500. I went with the Rotopax option, that includes two - 3 gallon fuel cans. It's available for around $700. The Rotopax cans run about $90-$100 a piece if you buy them separately, so I felt that was a pretty good deal. They also have a gerry can version.

The tub is double walled, but the OR Fab and similar carriers from Poison Sypder and others use internal reinforcements so the tub is not carrying the load solely through the hinge mounting points. There are internal braces that are installed behind each of the tail-lights that more evenly distribute the loading.
