Looking forward to using this site. Looks like a lot of useful info here and I hope I can be of some help here as well. I enjoy being outdoors camping, hiking and taking my Jeep off the beaten path to get there.

Great looking machine.

Try to fight inchitis - that machine is pretty much perfect as it sits and you don't want to slowly turn it into a trailer queen. :) The only thing I'd consider is adding some armour.

Thanks guys......Trailer queen is not my goal for it. I definitely dont want that. I know what you mean about the inchitis, or the ''itch'' rather :D. I want to be able to drive it out to the trail and back home. A 5'' LA lift, 32'' or 33'' MTs is how big I wanna go and that will still keep it daily driveable. I've been in enough situations out on the trail where my 2'' lifted Jeep was at its limit. I wanna be able to take it further then that :).

Sounds like a plan. I definitely wouldn't go any higher/larger.

I'm here in my shop with my Jeep (XJ) working on the belly pan (waiting for some welded parts to cool - hence the screwing around on the 'puter).

I'm doing 5" of long arm lift w/ 265s. I've got the Jeep on stands at more or less the height that it is going to be and am worried that it is too tall as I build this thing. Things like small children and utility are in the fore front of my mind.

Oh well, time will tell.

Thats a good lookin WJ. I love the all black look. Welcome to the site. I was wondering how your impression of the budget boost has been as far as on road travel. Did it decrease the ride quality at all?

Again, a beautiful machine!

Thanks Davis.

No it didnt decrease ride quality. Springs and shocks are going to be a more determining factor of how well its going to ride. I will say though, if I was to do it all over again, I would have saved more $$$ and went with a spring lift.....Live and learn.

And thanks Tanto :wavey: .
