I have seen many types of campers removed from there frames or the back of a pickup bed and placed on the front area of a flatbed trailer hauling 4wd vehicles (Jeeps, Toyotas, 4wd trucks, ATVs, sidebysides, etc). The campers are usually the basic camper ie, popup, or a full fledge well equipped camper put on the 5th wheel style flatbed trailer.
Has anyone seen something like that but the camper is a clamshell style, Kamparoo, Tentrax, etc? Or even a roof top tent?
I set up a tent last weekend with a latern that I haven't setup in 14 yrs. It really showed the outdated configuration of the tent. I recently purchased a hauling trailer for my TJ (4bngr) and pull it with a F350. I am planning to use the bed of the truck for sleep quarters but its rather small for the 2 kids who come along (mid teens and different sexes). A small clamshell style sleep quarters would fit the bill on the tongue area of the trailer. I currently hold a truck chest (straps, chains, spare tire holder, fluids, etc) there but could easily reconfigure something for storage needs. I would think a box like the Tentrax, Kamparoo Cub, or even a roof top would work well.
I could look into the cot-tent option as well. Much cheaper.
