Well, first I bought a dual sport motorcycle, then my husband bought a dual sport, then he also got a Harley, then I bought a Royal Enfield. My daily driver is a Jeep, so, I won't be getting stuck in any snowbanks, but serious 4wheeling is just too expensive - besides, finding legal places to go is very difficult. We had access to some private land, but have to be careful of over-use. Of course, there's only a couple legal, public areas to ride bikes offroad.... I also camp, dabble with climbing, snowshoe (used to ski, but my equipment is so old now...), hunt, and just about anything else outdoors I can do without dying of exposure.
I've also been involved in advocacy - as a member of New England Trail RIders Assoc. I worked with a lobbyist to change laws and policies for the benefit of off-highway enthusiasts.... went to a NOHVCC national conference and all sorts of way fun stuff like that.
