Here’s the inspiring tale of the sharp thinking overlander who had a backwoods emergency but couldn’t call for help because he couldn’t get a clear phone signal. Oh dear, what to do, what to do?
So he tied his phone onto the hobby drone he had and then sent that combo skyward until it could reach a strong enough cell signal to broadcast his plea for assistance!

A man stranded in the snow without cell service attached his phone to a drone and flew it until he got reception and could send a message for help. It worked.
The man's ingenuity with the drone and phone saved himself and another person who had also been stranded for multiple days in Oregon's Cascade range.
