A few photo's from Medano Pass and the Great Sand Dune National Park from a little trip last weekend. No real action photo's or video from the time I was on the trail, though I should've taken some of the creek crossings since a few of them were deeper than my first trip there 2 years ago (water up over the hood momentarily).
My 4runner turn 200,000 miles years old on the trip.
Really the one trail shot.
Probable the hardest section of the trail coming from the east or west depending on which way you come.
Made the 4-mile hike up to Medano Lake.
Slick trail near the top.
Medano Lake
As mentioned above no photo's from between the Medano Lake trailhead and the Sand Dunes. One of the creek crossings and the one I had water over the hood was due to ruts/holes in the middle of the crossing. Right before it was a large off-camber mud hole. Fun.
Great Sand Dune National Park
Taking a break over lunch.
Overall, it was a great trip and my first real run in 2 months.
I had two issue on the trip with my new rear bumper. The spare tire fits underneath until you flex out the suspension in anyway. All along the trail I heard some awful noises coming from the back as the track bar and the tire kept coming in contact. The second issue I had with the bumper was the same I had with the last in the rear passenger side contacts the body when the suspension moves so I'll have to install some spacers again for clearance.
So I'll be running a smaller spare tire (it's just a backup anyways right) and I'm having a spacer installed to deal with the body contact issue.
