Code reading and update ~ ty 4 the help

We just returned from a week away

battery was dead but I was able to read the codes -

brief recap - truck 2004 Disco, was running ruff, lack of power, then the Check Engine light came on, drove it for a week or moderately, then started flashing with significant power loss - did not drive once flashing

codes -

P0305 Cylinder misfire #5
P1319 manufacturer control ignition system or misfire
P1300 same as above
P0305
P0308 cylinder misfire #8


what is the cost of replacing the cat. system if need be...ball park?

check number 8 and 5 and make sure you have spark, clean plugs, etc. You might need new plug wires and plugs and coil packs. Get magnecor wires. You will also need a new intake gasket since you can't get your hands back there to change the plug wires without taking it off.

I would go with Kingsborne wires. I've been hearing from several people about Magnicores fit and finish sliding down hill.

I would couple these with the stock Champion plugs.
Based on your description of the problem though I don't think these will solve it.
