When the clutch is cold on my '99 2.7L Tacoma, it will chatter or "judder" (I didn't make that word up!) when I start from a dead stop. It catches and releases quickly, making the whole truck shake.
Granted, the clutch now has 150,000 miles on it, so I'm guessing the springs are crapping out. FWIW my wife's Subaru has always done this, and it's a known problem on those vehicles.
I can live with the issue, but what I'm wondering is, is the clutch about to fail? Usually a worn clutch gives you some warning, this one is not slipping and otherwise works fine.
