Colorado National Monument (3-30-08)

Amanda and I spent part of our day today taking the tour of the Colorado National Monument. Even thought it was pretty windy and there were a lot of rain clouds overhead, we had a great time. We certainly didn't see everything, but since it's practically in our backyard, I'm sure we will be spending more time exploring the Monument in the future.

Here's a few pictures from today.

Hey Randy. I've never been to the Memorial. Looks cool!

I'm sure you cannot drive through that tunnel? I ask because I see tracks.

Any other wheeling very close by? I am familiar with the Dragoons and/or Jackson Cabin. What about right by the Memorial?

Thanks!

while it does look like tracks....that is actually just water running down....just happens to look like tire tracks from a distance

Looks like a fun time out exploring. Wish that I was a bit closer to the southern areas of Utah and Colorado so I could just get out in the "backyard" too :shakin:

Cool pics. We are looking at heading out that way the week after Labor Day. Did you happen to hit McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area and Rattlesnake Canyon? We're very interested in finding a cool place to camp out there and do some hiking and relaxing.
