Compomotive back?

So, with Compomotive restructured and wheel production continuing under a new company formation, who is the USA Distributor? I'm in dire need of wheels for my LR3. :\

Cheers!

I don't think there ever was a US distributor for Compomotive, even before the reorganization. You can import them directly from the UK - no difference other than the minor annoyance of the fluctuating foreign exchange rate affecting your delivered cost a few bucks up or down. You can pay by wire xfer or PayPal and delivery is as quick as purchasing them from a domestic supplier, if they have the finish you want in stock (if they don't, it may take them a couple of weeks to manufacture it.)

I heard back from Barry at Compomotive International

Right now we do not have an American dealer for our products.

I am happy to confirm that we are able to offer our 8x18 PD rim to suit the Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 models. We have just completed the process of confirming all the fitments for this new wheel on the many varied Land Rover brake options / vehicles. We have supplied for all models of Land Rover with this wheel via our worldwide dealer & they have kindly supplied images of some of their customers cars.

http://motoring.ninemsn.com.au/toolkit/howto/8405614/4x4-magazine-modified-range-rover-sport

The rim is made to take your original Land Rover alloy wheel lug nut and Land Rover centre caps. So should be a case of just fitting your new tyres and driving away from the garage. They are produced from primary grade aluminium alloy and painted in durable powder coating finishes of either, satin black or Anthracite grey. The et / offset specification of this rim is et44 – needed to give the internal caliper space for the very large diameter brakes on these vehicles. This pushes the wheel further out in the fender than stock – as in the image at the bottom of this mail.

The rim price is £195.00 gbp each – plus tax and transport.

We recommend the following for touring and medium off-road work:
-General Grabber AT2 255/60R18
-Continental CrossContact AT 255/600R18
-Yokohama Geolander AT/S 265/60R18
-Cooper ATR 265/60R18
-Goodyear Silent Armor 265/60R18

For more serious off-road (but will need light plastic cutting):
-BFG AT 265/65R18
-Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/60R18

For very serious off-road (will need more modification):
-Maxxis Bighorn 275/65R18
-Hankook MT 275/65R18

If it is of any help the information from our Australian dealer is that they tend to recommend the 265/60R18 size, as it doesn't require any mods, won't rub anywhere and easily fits up into the spare wheel-well. Importantly for a sparsely-populated country like Australia, it is also a common size, so replacements are easier to find when remote touring. The 265/65R18 is not common over there, except for the BFG KO AT, which is available in that size. This size will fit in the spare wheel-well, but only if deflated to 10psi. It will rub very slightly inside the front of the rear wheel-well at full compression.

The 285/60R18 is a popular choice - particularly the Cooper Zeon LTZ. Again the tyre needs to be deflated to fit in the spare-wheel area, and there is slight rubbing on full lock when reversing. The 275/65R18 can be fitted, but requires quite a few mods, as per the PDF

Just to resurrect this thread, is there an option to do a group buy?

As I sliced a stock conti this weekend at RAW and don't want to waste money on another one as I start to get my 2014 LR4 built for some more trail duty these are now a must and have been moved up the list so I can have another spare under my vehicle.

Thanks!
