computer question

Anyone know what would happen if the IAC, TPS, MAP, Intake Air Temp Sensor, O2, Coolant Temp Sensor and everything needing to be unplugged while installing a header WAS unplugged and the key was turned ON with the battery still connected? I know that's a strange question. Obviously the computer would recognize that those sensors were not plugged in.

I finished my header install and it went smoothly. When I started it up to check for exhaust leaks, I had to be all the way in the throttle to get it to start and then it died right away when I took my foot off. I checked codes and pulled 3 (0505, 0113, 0118). These have to do with 3 of the sensors that were unplugged. While it's possible, I highly doubt all three of those sensors crapped the bed at the same time. The harness looks fine as well. I cleared the codes and then tried to start it and now I can just reach in the vehicle and turn the key and it starts up but it takes 1-2 seconds for the rpm's to climb up to 700 and then all is fine. It definitely takes longer for the rpm's to get to 700 than it did before. I am wondering if the computer is just freaked out and will reprogram itself after some driving? I can't drive it now b/c I haven't had it aligned yet. Right now, the negative terminal is disconnected. I'll leave it for 30 minutes and see if there's a change. Thanks.

I did consider the fact that I might have an intake leak but I don't think that's it either. The intake is all the way on both dowels underneath and there's no gaps on the top of the intake where it meets the gasket. I did follow the tightening sequence and was able to torque them all to 24 lbs.

Looks like the computer was just freaked out a bit. It's back to normal now after disconnecting the negative for almost an hour. Thanks anyways.

For the record...the APN header install really went smoothly. I had read write ups of people really complaining about the lower bolts but I had no problems. It sounds so much better. Now I can hear an exhaust leak right in front of my muffler. Guess it's time for a cat back!

Good to hear all's well with it. I was hoping to read that someone's had an easy time with the APN install.

Yeah I'm not really sure what was going on with the 2 threads I found while searching where they had trouble. One guy said he had to actually leave a bolt out underneath and then he wondered why he was having an exhaust leak. The first bolt in the tightening sequence is a bit of a booger to get at. It's the only one I wasn't able to get a torque wrench on. I used a ratchet wrench on that one. The rest had plenty of room to work around. It was a fun install.
