Considering buying local 110

1984

nice rig, 200tdi

can you tell me about the 200?

can I fit the rear 7 seats in the back of 84?

is there anything that can't be fit on a 84 that say a late model has? for example can I update doors, maybe add seat heaters/windshield due to local climate etc.

will post specs

Observer
You can swap doors, seats, glass at will. They are all pretty much the same barring the newest defender bulkhead/dash is different (ugly).

200 is a great motor as long as it is well taken care of. Any history on it?

Check for rust, on the t-posts, rear cross member, bulkhead, and door bottoms.
Especially on the bulkhead look closely, as it often rusts from the inside out.

Lets see some pics!

all of those things are new

engine was done by lanny clark rover specialists and has about 5K

I will need cold weather gear, heated windshield, seats, and engine stuff because it gets cold here -20 and I want to do it right

the wife gave the go ahead assuming one thing:

child seats, I will replace all the seats with the newest seats. I think the rear seats use the latch system? anyone? we also will install the newer foldable rear seats in the back 3rd row

the owner sounds like a really nice guy, he is looking for the right buyer so hopefully if all goes well I will qualify :)

I am located in New England, although I once lived in Asheville and HHI fellas so you know I'll be down for some fun on the NC coast and the U.Forest :)

I'm waiting to hear back from the owner on some questions. He said he has added a lot of upgrades since the above list including a front slider? not sure what that is

this would be a great purchase for us as we have been mulling over a sportsmobile for about 2 years. Our 2004 Disco ( my second 04 and third Disco ) is well loved but we loath the gas mpgs and the mechanicals are beyond my talent

Things slowed down considerably when we got pregnant but it has been the best ride of our lives. We really want to explore the west and we have access to a home base out of SLC when we go. This would give us that chance since I work out of the house and she has summers off, we could just split every summer or half of it

working on updated pics

The front slider is probably an underbody skid plate to protect the area from the bumper to the front axle, these protect the bottom of the radiator of other various bits in that region.

sorry for the delay, I have not heard back form the owner

I know the truck is in storage though

he said he isn't avidly selling it but emphasized if the right person at the right price came through . . .

perhaps I turned him off about the child seat question :p
