Coolant leak

Need some help from anyone who has had the exhaust manifolds off their Gen II SR,
recently noticed a small amount of coolant on the rear of the passenger side exhaust mani. I know that on my old Eclipse there were a few exhaust studs that threaded into coolant passages, was wondering if this is the case with the 3.5 DOHC heads. I know its as easy as pulling the bolts out was just look to see if anyone knew before I go digging in there.
Thanks!

I just recently had a similar issue, on my 01 sport with the 3.5. My coolant pipes and hoses might in different locations but it worth checking out.

I had burnt coolant residue on the rear of the passenger side exhaust manifold (exterior, near the 02 sensor). The only way i could find the coolant was to get the engine real warm and have the coolant system under load, that is with the heat blasting. I could then see a drop every 3-5 seconds, falling from what appeared to be valve cover. I ended up tracing the coolant all the way around the valve cover and found that it was actually dripping from the upper coolant pipe. The pipe runs front to back of the engine (inbetween the two valve covers, underneath the intake plenum and TB) up front it is an o-ring seal that fits into an aluminum housing that lives just on top of the thermostat housing. That o ring had become degraded and was the cause of my leak.

Please post up your results!

Thanks Mike, I was in and around that pipe and o ring not too long ago while replacing valve stem seals. I'll have to take a look to see if maybe things didn't seat quite right on the reassembly. Hope to get at it in the next week, I'll let you all know what I find
