You're never really lost until you start unexpectedly crossing borders or running into oceans. Even then, you can re-orient given that you've just bumped into a known terrain feature.

A 80 acre cornfield can be real intimidating if you are not use to it. They are in a different environment. I assume they didn't want to knock over corn stalks to get to lighted areas. Also most people who get turned around panic. It takes experience to not panic.

I grew up running around playing hide and seek in cornfields. Its remarkably easy to tell what way you are going, or where you are...once you get used to it. But then, I'm the sort that can always tell where north is, and rarely get lost. Did I learn that skill playing in corn fields and forests as a child, or is it inherent ability? I think its learned.

Nathan, I think you may have an unfair advantage... I'm pretty sure is biologically impossible for corn to grow taller than you :ylsmoke:
