Anyone seen/ridden one yet? Looks like a fun time to me and a good alternative to the KLX250S for those who prefer red to green.

My Super Sherpa weighs about 280 lbs. fully fueled so this bike is 40 lbs. heavier dry.

Having a hard time figuring out where the extra weight comes from as it looks to be similar in size.

And that is dry weight...no fluids, oil, fuel, fork oil...

Manufacture's usually lie a bit too, saying it is lighter than it really is...

Maybe if it was a 650, it would be "kinda" acceptable, but for a 250!?

Dirt Bike mag weighed one.... without any fuel, but with all other fluids, it weighed in at 223lbs. Still nearly 30 pounds heavier than it should be, but not quite as bad as it looks on paper.

I want to know where the weight is at.... the engine?

Nevermind, I'm mistaken. It was the R model that weighed 223 (I read and wrote it as 323)... Disregard.

I am reading 320lbs. in there, and 315lbs, on another link in the article.

I dunno 320lbs, is not very beginner friendly. I am hoping KTM brings over the 350 Freeride, would like to swap out
my girlfriend's KX 100. The KTM at 220lbs, and mild power delivery would be perfect for her.

or maybe OSSA will bring their Explorer over, that would be even better.

There's been a lot of talk about this bike on ADV. I stopped in a shop while I was traveling over the weekend and got to see one in person. I was kind of skeptical before I saw it, because I had a CRF230L, and I think Honda totally dropped the ball on that one. Well I have to say that I was actually pretty impressed, especially for the pricepoint. It looks like it will be 10X the bike that the 230 was. Fit and finish is excellent, and early reviews seem to be pretty good on it. It doesn't have adjustable suspension though, which to me is probably it's biggest drawback. I don't have any plans to buy one, as I already have a KLX250s (with 351 kit), a 610 Husky, and I just picked up a WR250X, but I think it would be worth considering if I was in the market for a bike. The published weight does seem heavy, but really about the same as the WR R/X and KLX. I think it's actual weight has been reported to be just slightly less than published. All of these bikes are way heavy compared to the higher performance dual-sports.

Apparently it's a bit larger than it looks (and I'm assuming much larger than the diminutive 230L).

Also, it is heavy, but worth noting that it's liquid cooled and fuel injected, so it's more in the realm of the KLX250S than the Sherpa/XT.
