I am new to this forum, only knew it existed after walking in Forest Park in Portland,OR and chatting with a stranger there. My girlfriend and I have been on the road for about 2 1/2 months now departing in a Chevy Malibu from Chicago,IL and camping and exploring as much as possible (no extreme hikes, not prepared for that, though certaiinly well prepared in general.) from there to the western coast. We are currently in Seattle and heading east after going south again to I-84. Though its too late in the year for Yellowstone it seems, we are going to go through MT,WY,SD,MN,and WI. Any advice, especially regarding weather , culture,emergency resources and must-sees welcome and appreciated.
