In '02, I bought an '89 FJ62, unknowingly with a cracked head.

Drove it in the desert on the weekends for the whole summer. Found out about the head, balked at a rebuild and sold it. The buyer put $800 in a rebuild kit and he still smiles everytime he drives by me.

My story stinks.....:littlefriend:

Yes, yes it does. Sorry to hear that. I had the same thing happen with a 40. It had low compression in the #3 cylinder. I did not want to mess with it so I sold it. The guy who bought it, pulled the head and had it rebuilt. That thing is still running around.

Thanks for sharing.

16 Years on ExPo. Whoa!!
I have plenty more where that came from, most related to idiocy of not knowing much about vehicles.. For example I managed to seize not one but two two very strong running 2Fs in a period of about 6 months... Almost dont want to tell those stories..
