Current River Fall Float

Natasha and I loaded up the camper, boat, and dogs for a two day float on the Current River. We set up the camper on a gravel bar Thursday night, kicked on the heater, and went to bed.

Friday morning we slept in until almost 7:00! We skipped breakfast and headed for the put in up river at Round Spring. The plan was to float the 10 miles back down to the camper and pay an outfitter to shuttle the truck down to the take out at Two Rivers. The gravel bar with our camper is a little more then half way and that's where we would stop to stay the night.

Saturday morning we hung out in the camper until the sun came up over the hills and burned off some of the fog. Pancakes and sausage for breakfast, then it was back on the river for the last half down to Two Rivers.

All in all it was a fantastic trip. Great weather, great scenery, and we practically had the river to ourselves both days. Just a bit early for fall colors, but from what we saw this weekend, I think we're going to have a good fall. :)

Looks like you had a great float! Enjoy the leaves, we just about lost all ours this weekend between a couple of heavy frosts and some wind.

Looks like a relaxing time. What is the make on that trailer? I'm trying to educate myself more on the whole off road trailer market to be better prepared when I'm serious about purchasing.
