Custom Extrusions for FRP Panels

Anyways, deciding the thickness has been my primary concern. I had been planning .125 for the longest time but am now considering .100 for slight weight savings. at the end of the day it really shouldn’t matter since this thickness isn’t where the box strength is coming from. Atleast that’s what I’m trying to convince myself.
If the aluminum is as strong as your FRP, that should be plenty. Some people seem to do fine with just adhesive stuck in the joint and no edge reinforcement at all, so...

dont forget to apply primer before bonding metal with adhesive…

correct, there are only 90 degree pultrusions to be found. We got 45 ones made to match our system. Again… expensive…
135deg edge protectors can easily be made by taking a flat length of grp and water cutting a castle or box joint pattern then set the angle with glue. i would not attempt this with saws or routers as grp is very abrasive water cutting does it all
