CVT: Mt Rainier vs Shasta

Hi Everyone,

About to pull the trigger on one of these and having trouble deciding. I'm 6'3, my wifes 5'5" and our six year old son is well on his way to catching up with me in height. I'm torn if I really need the bigger rainier or not. Thoughts and opinions? FWIW its also going on my ram 1500 ARE shell with yakima racks (3).

I can tell you that we have the Rainier, and it's awesome. For three people, if you all want to sleep up top, go big!

We have the Rainer as well. For sleeping three people regardless of size you want the 72x96 sleeping area of the Rainer or Hood.

We've got the rainier and love it. Im 6'4" and t's just me the wife and the dog but after visiting cvt to check the tents out the increase in space made a big difference in the feel of the tent - length wasn't an issue in either of them. Ours is also on an xTerra so your 1500 should have no problems with the rainier.
