Hi all,
-
I am about to buy some 40" tires to go on truck and I've really fallen in love with the Toyo Open Country M/T's. The only problem I am having here is that they appear to have a load rating of D, with just 50 PSI. The only ones with a load rating of E are the 24R ones, and I don't want a 24 inch wheel. I plan to have about 5,000lbs on the front axle and 6,000lbs on the rear axle. I am just wondering if I will regret going with the D rated 50 PSI tires or will I be fine? Does the D vs E rules still apply to larger tires? If so, what can I expect ride-wise? Here are the specs:
-
40x15.50R20LT = D Load / 4190# max load / 50 PSI
40x15.50R22LT = D Load / 3860# max load / 50 PSI
40x15.50R24LT = E Load / 3970# max load / 65 PSI
-
Interestingly enough, the 20 inch rim has the highest load at 4190# per tire at 50 PSI.
-
Anyone have thoughts/advice? Thanks.
