D30 Question

Hey Guys, have a '99 XJ, HP D30, 4.56's, and an ARB.

Walking out to the XJ this morning to go to work, I noticed a small puddle right up against my right front tire. Turned out to be gear oil, leaking out the end of the tube. Haven't been wheeling in a while, nothing but daily driving the last few months. However, I recently had the pinion bearing replaced. I'm guessing inner axle seal is bad? Thoughts? Was not leaking yesterday so I'm kind of puzzled.

When was it apart?

You're just lucky.

Probably just a bad seal. Check the sealing surface on the shaft too. It happens, one day it's fine, next day it's leaking. Just a coincidence.

Yeah, sounds like a seal, had one let go in the rear axle in my TJ about a year ago. Nice "******?!" moment walking out to my Jeep after lunch....
