Just wanted to let everyone know I finally found a reasonably priced DC amp meter. I've been searching for one for years that didnt cost an arm and a leg. I was at sears today and found one for $100 that does ac/dc amps, volts, ohms, temp and a few other things.

I've tested it against my other DC amp meter on a couple things including the ford taurus electric fans on my project truck and they were both about the same on every test. I have been wanting to test the items on my camper van like the roof top a/c, fridge, etc I cant wait LOL.

Anyway I've been searching for something like this for a few years off and on so I just wanted to pass it on.

I bought mine at sears today for $100 part number 34-73756 Craftsman professional series clamp meter.

I got on Sears.com to order one and wasnt impressed by the ratings other buyers were giving this model. Are you still happy with it?

Still very happy with mine, I noticed that as well but for $100 at sears I am not gonna complain. I had been pricing other meters that would read DC amps at well over 3X that price alone. If I was needing a DC amp meter to put food on the table then I'd invest in a high end fluke model but this thing works great for getting rough ideas of what items put out around the house (I like to build hotrods normally).

If you have a VOM meter, most can handle 10A DC. If you need more 10A ability build a 100A shunt to work with your VOM meter for a $1.
