For years now, we (Inyo County natives) have been trying to modernize "Tea Kettle Junction" to "Microwave Corners".
Alas, we've had no luck so far.
We're glad you were able to enjoy the Springs. Back in the days when that was not part of DVNP, but BLM, there was no camping limit - you could live out there, and people did. Almost completely self-policing, and there was always someone around to help you, even in the middle of summer (which was mainly when people got IN trouble).

One day I'll get out to DV. Looks so awesome and thanks for the pics. Almost did a 4 day trip last winter but had to cancel last minute.

Telescope peak is awesome! Hike it! Telescope peak gives you views from 11k' to 0'. If you are brave enough the night skies up there are amazing. Don't ignore the crampon warnings.

Many great places to see, but the best thing, IMO is finding views and ghost towns.

If you are into drugs, convicts, nudists and ravers head to saline hot springs.

This looks amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Are there any spots a full size rig like a Suburban on 37s would have trouble fitting? Thanks again for the great report on your adventure.
