Our travels will take us from 2000' to 9000' elevation.
I will be arriving in Lone Pine on Thursday 11/23 noonish & will be staying at the Best Western. Anyone wanting to explore the environs of Lone Pine Thursday afternoon, PM me. There are several other nice motels in Lone Pine including a Comfort Inn along with the Diaz Lake campground for those so interested.
I will be carrying an additional 5 gals of gas (habit forming). Food is on your own unless someone wants to undertake planning/scheduling meals. In the event we get snowed out of some areas, alternate routes/activities have been planned.
I don't plan to camp in improved areas, it will all be backcountry dispersed camping. Pets are not allowed in the backcountry. Fires are allowed in provided firerings in campgrounds. Backcountry campfires are prohibited in the National Park. Collecting firewood within the park is prohibited. We will be able to have campfires on 2 of the nights. Bring firewood if you wish to have a fire.
Happy travels!
