Really alot of thanks goes to my 18yr old son Nathan...he totalled his 83 Benz and has been sitting on the cash from insurance. He mentioned that he wanted to be more of a part of DE so he put up his cash to buy this project rig...He will get to drive it to school and on many of the trips/test/camping...

I am really looking forward to learning more about Rovers...gotta buy the CD service manuals and some other reference material so we have a clue what we are doing.

And best of all pretty soon everyone will be able to buy tickets and win this ride for themselves!

This is great Lance! I can't wait to see what you guys put together and what a great reason to do so. That was very cool what your son did, give him a pat on the back. As for help, I know nothing about Rovers specifically, but I can turn a wrech and I am always willing to lend a hand if ever needed.

I have no brain left it's just a catalog of mixed up Rover information!

But you're more than welcome to scrape around and get what you can:sombrero:

Yup shoot me a mail and then we can talk some, building trucks that don't require trail repairs is what I'm about.

I guess congratulation Lance !! 50% of me says you will hate the truck after breaking down too many times, but who knows, you may have one of the few that has no issues and you will love it. :)

1st There is nothing like the driver position on a RR, and coming from a FJ, you will love it. You will see the trail like never before!

2st The suspension is fantastic (I know it is no air susp). You have many choices and even cheap Pro Comp shocks are great with good coils. ( LR or OME)

3th The seats are really nice for long trips. I suppose you got the armrests with your seats.

4th You will hate everything electric. Gauges, window switches, temp gauge, locks, rear window opening while driving, A/C, etc.

5th LRs don't leak oil, they just mark their territory. :) Plenty of that. If it doesn't leak, it doesn't have any. Best way to check !

6th You will never break an axle, even though they are very small compared to Toyotas. All the drivetrain is great.

7th Don't put wide tires. Tall and skinny is what they like.

8th You will feel it a little bit underpowered. The V8 is a little too small and thirsty. The fuel gauge is not very accurate, so have a canister always with you.

9th The headliner will collapse on you, when you least expect it. Make sure it is well attached.

10th There is nothing like a Land Rover. Welcome to the family !!

Here is mine while on an Expedition through the jungle
