Justin I have been looking at buying some TF suspension parts for a project but this statement is concerning. Could you help me understand which stuff of theirs is bad so i can avoid it?

I know everyone can have a personal opinion about different brands but considering you are a TF vendor and have experience with all of their parts I would value some guidance on what TF stuff not to buy.

Tf had a bad run of shocks a few years back. Those shocks have been haunting them ever since. I would definitely not recommend old stock terra firma shocks. Most of them were good but there was some that went bad right away. TF went to a new shock factory and you can tell which shocks these are because they have a plastic jacket on them instead of the metal one. To terrafirma's credit they stood by all of the bad shocks and replaced them under warranty every time there was an issue. I reached out to the OP to try and find out where the guy he bought the truck from purchased the shocks. Unfortunately he did not buy them from us so I was not able to do anything.

The other TF part I'm not a fan of is the Diff guards. IMO the metal needs to be thicker. I am working with them to see if they can beef up the guards.

Getting ready to order a kit today - going to go with all OME stuff to avoid any pitfalls from bad TF stuff.

The OME stuff is good. The down side is the price and the shocks are standard length. You will gain no down travel from the suspension lift. This can be good and bad all the same.

Less flex: Less possible problems.

More Flex : More traction.

I originally posted this thread for help regarding the shocks on my vehicle and the experience I have had with them. I can answer only a few of the questions posed about the TF shocks as I wasn't the one who purchased or installed them. I can tell you the bump stops don't look to be new or larger in size and the shock towers were not extended they are stock.

Moving forward I'm not opposed to TF in the least. I have a new steering damper from them on my vehicle now and it works very well. Is there a way to test if the shocks have the proper nitrogen in them? As I still have the two rear TF remote reservoir shocks on my vehicle it would be good to make sure they are setup correctly.

As far as the OME shocks which I purchased from GBR Utah, the staff there said they would work with the ride height measurement I sent to them.

I appreciate the input and help. Thanks again.
