So after looking at $150 to $350 Tailgate Tables I decided that I might be able to make one. I'm building an overland rig but it's also my daily driver so I really wanted something I could take on and off easily. So here is what I came up with, best part is that I didn't have to drill or attach to the tailgate at all. Everything is held by powerful magnets. It's surprisingly strong. Posting in case anyone else was thinking of doing something like this.
Parts List:
Tongue & Groove Nickel Gap Red Cedar ($11.71) - Menards
50mm Round Magnet ($4.39)x4 - Harbor Freight
18 In. Magnetic Tool Holder ($4.99) - Harbor Freight
Stainless Steel Piano Cabinet Hinge ($15.98) - Lowes
Paracord/550 Cord - Had on hand.
Black Paint - Had on hand.
Screws - Had on hand.
1/4 Wood Material cut in 2" dia to rise 2 of the tailgate round magnets. - Had on hand.
