DIY trailer build

My main gripe with it is the Timbren suspension. It still has too much camber, and the ride is quite bouncy. It is quiet, no rattling or squeaking which is great, but I can't imagine taking this off road, beyond a well maintained gravel one. Even on pavement if there are some dips at the right frequency it starts bouncing, wheels leaving the ground. Same rolling over speedbumps etc. Does anyone have a better experience with these suspensions? Fully loaded for a trip, I had it weighed at 2250# at a certified scale, that is weight on the wheels, there is about 250# on the tongue. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this!
Amazing work! Nice job.

I have a trailer with Timbren 3500HD and it seems nice. Comfortable on and off road, empty (2200 lbs) and full (3500 lbs). The Facebook group and the thread here on ExPo for the brand of trailer both detail camber issues that are fixable. I have not reached out to them before, but Timbren should be able help, I’ve heard good things about their customer service.

What tire pressure are you running? Many folks have their pressure too high for a trailer and in turn, the tires bounce like basketballs. I would play with the pressures and see if that helps.

Great work!!!

Looks good. I love how you built the box for the batteries with handles to easily move it. Great idea.

How did you mount the upper cabinets. Did you have metal in the wall to bolt them too?
Thanks! The battery was fun to build.

The upper cabinets are mounted on 2"x1/8in aluminum angle that is glued to the panels with the Sikaflex 252. In the image below you can see the primer for the glue where the angles will go. There are 4 18in long pieces, 2 on the left side wall, one on the ceiling, and one on the back wall. It is ridiculously strong, probably went overboard there....

Hey thanks!

And for the info on the Timbren. I reached out to them today, I have had a good experience with their support so far. I'll check out the other threads too. I do think the 3500HD may have been a better choice, but maybe they can help get it a bit less bouncy.

Thanks!

Great, I'll have a look at the tire pressure. It does seem like most of the suspension travel is tire deflection, maybe a bit less air would help. Thanks!

Wow, hard to believe that just an adhesive is strong enough. But I do know how strong 252 is. I used it for my slide-in pop top camper I built.
