Pickuptrucks.com asked the five USA manufacturers of full size "half-ton" pickups (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota and Nissan) to submit the best truck they could make for under $30K. After extensive testing, Pickuptrucks.com decided that the Dodge ST quad cab was the best of the bunch. Second place went to the Toyota Tundra.

Choosing a winner in this test depends on your priorities. Ford submitted a standard cab with V8, and was criticized for lack of space for passengers. The winning Dodge was a crew cab model. The Tundra was first or second in almost all tests, but was criticized for its low fuel economy and bulky "big truck" feel. You'll have to read the tests and decide what matters to you.

Eh... I would have been happier to see the Ford w/ the EcoBoost V6, 4x4, and super or crew cab... BUT... then again... those things are 30k... I would hate to price MY truck in 2011...

Well no surprise the Chevy/GMC is the worst performing of the bunch but I was surprised Nissan couldn't do more.

Looks like the only reason the F150 got 3rd was due to its lack of four doors. I love my F150 with the 5.4L, huge supercrew interior, nimble on the highway and plenty of gumption.
