Does anyone make an enclosed (like Wells Cargo,Carson, Pace...) that has a single HD axel and larger wheels/tires

I'm just looking for a smaller (5 by 8ish) enclosed trailer that has a heavier duty suspension. This would be setup for utility and periodic trips to carry gear that will keep the water and dust out. It seems silly to buy a trailer and then replace the axel/wheels/brakes.

Thanks

Define "heavy duty" suspension. Cargo trailers are pretty much built for hauling the most common cargo, household goods, machines, tools, etc. Expected weight to be carried in such a small trailer doesn't warrant a "HD" suspension.

I suggest you just find a local cargo trailer manufacture and order what you want. Might consider something a bit bigger too, I wouldn't go smaller than a 6X10 to 6x14 Vnose. More useful and will hold their value.

A 5x8 will be limited, not only by weight but as to useable space. Doubt you find a 5X8 with standing headroom.

And, when it's time to sell that trailer I doubt you'd have much demand for it.

Which brings me to the least expensive way to get one, find a used one and change the axel yourself. Just know it won't be worth much more.

Do it for the 'gram
I had a new axle installed (part of a lift) on my last trailer and it was about $1250 CAD all said and done. Not a huge expense, relatively speaking. The current 6x12 cargo conversion I'm working on will almost certainly come in at over the axle weight rating, so I'll be swapping that axle for a 5000lb one, too. Buy whatever trailer you want, then get whatever axle you want; it'll be cheaper than looking for the perfect setup from the get-go.
