2003 DRZ400, kick start only model. better known as the off road model. This bike is the lightest and best performing of the DRZ400 models, hence why i chose to leave suspension and motor alone, also for reliability. I purchased in in march of this year from roger at humboldt motorsports, he had purchased it for himself but realized he only had so much time and too many bikes. Milage is unknown, because the bike didn't come with an odometer but it has a trail tech computer that will tell you speed, milage etc....

Since i have owned it:

23 March

-Changed oil and filter

-Airbox snorkel removed (still have it)

-Stage one dyno jet kit installed-new needle on fifth clip, 136 main jet.

01 Apr

-Installed 15 tooth front sprocket, to help with highway RPMs.

-Adjusted chain, cleaned and lubed

-Safety wired Countershaft nut, these are know to loosen on these bikes. This one hadn't but i wanted to make sure.

29 Apr

-Carb tear down, clean and inspect.

-Safety wire accelerator pump and modify AP plunger. DRZ's with the FCR 39mm carb are known to have a nasty bog, this one wasn't that bad after the jetting. But while i was in there, i thought i would try it. It worked awesome, the AP now squirts fuel for about 2 seconds and the bike doesn't fall on its face when you briskly open the throttle. Google "drz 400 eddie mod" and you can see just what i did.

-Small LED rear turn signals.

-replaced front wheel bearings

Jet Settings are as follows

200 MAJ

60 PAJ

136 MJ

1 turn fuel screw

5th clip on the needle

Other than the main jet and needle, all are as i got the bike, which i believe to be stock.

Since then i have been riding it off and on. I was gone for most of July and August, so the bike just sat, with properly preserved fuel. Upon my return it started first kick. My plans were to ride this bike for a long time, slowly upgrading and tuning as i went. With my bad knee's and possibly not having a job soon, the bike needs to leave. funny how life has a way of changing things for you. MPG has been between 30-50 for me, depending on type of riding, weather etc.

For the most part this is a commuter bike for me, however i have taken it on some trails, i would say 6 times or so. Either from me or previous owners the plastic is scratched here and there and the bike has been dropped. I will not attempt to hide that, it is a dirt bike after all! It will need a new rear tire soon, probably 500 miles or so left on it depending on your riding.

Clean title in my name, no paper trail this time (that was a headache!) Currently OR registered.

PM me if you are interested.
