Dual Battery for dummies thread?

Morning, I just cruised though the Power systems forum for a bit and didn't see anything as a Starters Guide to Dual Batteries.

Does this thread exist somewhere? If so, Mods can we make it sticky?

I have a 2014 Tacoma w/ Flippac and I need to set up a power system to run some LED lights in the tent, equipment chargers, and potentially a fridge down the road.

What are the essential systems I need? Where should they be mounted?

Where it's mounted, depends mostly on the vehicle.
Where is there room to fit the battery?
Can you run the cables to that place?
Where can you put switches?
Where can you put the fuses?
Do you need to drill a hole?
Will it be waterproof?
etc.

Using the "Dual battery for $50" thread I created my own system, which has been bullet-proof for almost a year in West Africa now.

My setup is extremely simple and basic, and it works, all the time.
