I just used the factory second battery tray, added a group 24 deepcycle from Walmart for $100. For the wiring I purchased a voltage sensing battery isolator so that it cuts the connection between the batteries when the truck is not running. On the battery side i connected so as the 175A fuse from the stock battery was protecting this line, then on the other side I put a 135A auto breaker. The kit came with wiring which id guess is close to 4 gauge.
Took about an hour total, taking my time and keeping the wiring tidy, ziptying, wire loom, ect. . I was also able to use a factory battery block to secure the group 24 battery into the h6 battery tray.
Using this to run my 40l vevor fridge and power going to my roof top tent for the lights/charging station. The AC Delco AGM starter battery lasted about 2 days without the truck running just running the fridge and charging devices.
List of parts:
(battery isolator kit)
(extra battery crimps)
