Dual battery question

Today I fabbed up a tray for a dual battery. I already had the red top sitting in the garagee. Eventually I'll replace it with a yellow top but it will be the same size. Everything seems fine but I have this worry always that the battery will touch the hood and short out. It's definitely a tight squeeze compared to the other vehicles I have had dual battery setups in. I don't think it will touch and I feel like there is room but it's hard for me to judge because of course I cant see in there when the hood is closed. What do u guys think?

The blue strap is temporary.

You could always flip the battery putting the post closer to the firewall by the looks of your hood slope you could maybe pickup 3/4" more clearance?

Actually after testing it with some clay i have over an inch atleast. It looked like it would be closer than that. I will probably flip it around also though because I have the side terminals that I'd like to be able to use but with the way it is now its too close to the air box to use them if I decide to.

Also swap it around so that the negative terminal is closest to the fender, and the positive closest to motor, this will give you more clearance on the positive terminal if your questioning it.
