I bought a Harbor Freight 48x48 trailer, attached a Truck Vault to it, and extended the tongue an extra 2ft, also adding a tool box on the tongue. Will be towing my Zodiac on top of it, once I figure out some sort of mounting system for the 6ft metal brackets! Just bought a KDX200 so need bigger trailer asking $500 obo

I had a similar thought as well on a trailer I saw in Harbor the other day. However yours looks a little more substantial than what I was looking at. How is the frame on that one built? It looks like square tube instead of the normal "L" shaped frames you see in small utility trailers.

been thinking about geting one 40x48 from HF to haul my camping gear. how hard would it be to put bigger tires on it ? how did you extended the tongue ? keep us posted

The frame is made of the normal "L", but framed it out with 4x4 studs for extra strength!

As far as the extended tongue, I removed the original "c" channel looking thing, and bought 3/16" 2 1/2" square tubing. 3/16" was probably over kill but wanted to be sure!!!

Bigger tires and rims are also something I'am looking into, only problem is it has a 4lug rim pattern! Any ideas would be appreciated!
