Earthroamer XV-JP Version 2.0?

The linking of the rear will be rather trivial.

I'm mostly interested in the Diesel option and the simplicity of this Jeep.

Not saying its the most rational solution, but I'm also the guy with a 5 linked front end from a Dodge 2500 on a Jeep M725 with a 5.7 ltr hemi in it :)

Why would the army want a "truck" "beefed up" to a 3000 payload? Are they replacing the Barbie Jeeps in their daycare centers?

Well, I've got my place in line faxed in :).

Still a little odd to me calling it a 5 door, can't remember the tailgate ever being counted in the number of doors a Jeep had, if it it.. Man I would have been better on insurance when I was 19 with a new TJ...

This one will likely be the last of the first batch built. I need a little time to finish up in CA before I move back to MD to assemble and build it.

The short list for it so far:
1.) Lock it, it needs arbs in a bad way
2.) Cut the rear suspension off and link it. Will likely be a mix of Nth(well I guess AEV now) stinger and links.
3.) Transfer the TJ's AiRock over to it.
4.) Some 37s.

Very well may try and get a flip pac for it too, we'll see how it goes. I'll give ya a buzz when I get closer to getting it.

How's this coming along? Have you gotten your rig and if so, still planning on talking to Martyn & Mario about an AT Flippac?

My spider sense says it won't fly unless you're in a state with a very sleepy DMV. I know that in most places, the VIN won't come up as valid in The Computer, and as soon as that hapens--even with, for example, perfectly legal old Unimogs that just have different format VINs--there's a heap of 'splaining to do.

Of course, it'd undoubtedly never get that far, because on arrival U.S. Customs would impound the engine on behalf of the EPA and the chassis on behalf of the NHTSA, given there's probably 50-100 points on which a MAN would be out of compliance.

While there are people with mystical knowledge and much experience who can sometimes get a newer truck in, figure that it's 25 years old for a trouble-free personal importation. It's worth noting, however, that this could mean a truck as new as a 1985 model. While not exactly new, it wouldn't exactly be an antique, either, and might do the trick.

Thanks mhiscox

I guess if I was in the market for a MAN based expedition camper I could just store it with my Dad back in Scotland, and drive from there

ah well, i'll keep working on the wife on the classic mini and camper pickup truck!
