I'm confused why designers extend the overhang over the windshield like that?
It just seems like such a drag on the aerodynamics (if there is such a thing when driving a big box down the road), but if the cab over design just stayed with the same angle of the windshield, it would seem like such a better design

I can understand it.
Other options for two beds would greatly extend the wheelbase, and I doubt if it is that big of a hit to the mpg.
