That is awesome. I wonder if you need a class A to drive it. It has air brakes so you would have to be able perform an air brake inspection.

lol @ that price.

Really? What would be a reasonable price?

I'm dreaming of building a large rig for my family of 4, and crew-cab medium- to heavy 4x4 trucks are pretty pricey.

It seems to me the asking price (40k) is about what it would cost you to do a 4x4 conversion on a large truck. So with this one you get a low-mileage truck thrown in 'for free'.

ADDED: For example, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001...6194?pt=Commercial_Trucks&hash=item2a0cf764b2here's a FL-60 4x4 bucket truck for $18k, but with 345,000 miles. To me that makes the OP with 60K for $40K look pretty good.

'Course there was that 4x4 International single-cab truck that sold on GL for $4k. I still can't get over it.

you think it's that high? Factory pricing on the crew cab and all-wheel drive options on a new truck are probably at least $40k on top of base price, and the automatic is usually considered a value-added option. I'm guessing the same truck new would list for around $100k.

That's my experience, too, and I don't think you'll find very many trucks like this on the market. Most every time they make a 4x4, they do something else to it as well: put on a bucket; put on a crane; at the least, put on a service body. Then you have to pay the money for these unwanted add-ons, too.

Of course, it's an empirical question. Spending 15 minutes on truckpaper.com will likely give a definitive answer about the appropriateness of the price.

I've been watching this one for a while. It's been posted several times and hasn't sold. There was another one very similar that sold a month or so ago for around $25k. It was a crew cab as well.

Probably a little higher MSRP for the crew cab, but I'll bet it goes off the lot for around that.

That's a perfect place to start for an "Eco-Roamer" sort of vehicle (family with young children, on the road for several months/years, no tent camping).

20'Expedition RV on Freightliner Mercedes Benz OM 906LA engine.

Looking for a suitable and affordable for my RV project based on a 20'shipping container, I found a Freightliner with MB engine in Europe which would be the starting point of my expedition.
This truck has nearly everything I'm looking for, it has 4x4, automatic transmission, Mercedes Benz engine, low miles, a 20'8" bed and is affordable in comparison to others.

However, there are a few things I'd like to modify to get the rig perfect.
1, It has dual rear wheels on a single axle which aren't the best off the road.
Is there any chance to change them into single ones like Unimog and Zetros what
specification and size would be required?
2, The drivers cab is a single one. I've seen crew cabs with high roof which would
be perfect for more space behind the seats and to get easier to the container box.
Any recommendation on that?
3, There is no air condition, but going later on to Africa I would like to have on.
I think this would be the most easiest part of all?

A good day to everybody!
