Thats not the ECWCS. That is the GORE-TEX jacket and GORE-TEX pants that the ECWCS replaced in some units (still issued to the majority of the army).

The ECWCS has three generations; all GEN 1-2 are ACU pattern (and were only distributed to units in Afghanistan for tests), GEN 3 is available in both ACU and MULTICAM and is distributed to units in cold climate bases and those in Afghanistan. And the brown suit...I'm not sure what that is but it is not Army equipment.

And finally if it were ECWCS it would be stolen US Army property because the ECWCS is not a commercially available product.

The Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) is a variety of clothing articles intended to be layered, and composed of different materials with specific properties to protect the wearer from a variety of cold-moist, or cold-dry environments. The OP is selling an earlier generation of ECWCS items. Service supply regulations allow for individual servicemembers to have retained these clothing articles after issue, if not issued as organizational items, or simply written off of the unit property book in accordance with policy. The items could have also been purchased by the owner through Clothing Sales. Finally, the items could have also been procured through the Defense Reutiliztion and Marketing Office (DRMO). The OP is a former servicemember.

Fouling someone elses thread is not appreciated on this forum. Neither is accusing a member of theft. If your forum name implies you are an MOS 18A I'm surprised you don't know this already. Next time get your facts straight. Great first post.

TangoBlue-

Thanks for the kind, and discerning response to 18A4Runner. It appears that he could have better represented himself by exhausting his research prior to making such a misinformed reply. Beyond this, welcome to the forum 18A4Runner, you will find ExPo to be a wealth of information. Wishing you the best!

My guess is that he is not. Any SF dude that I have ever met did not advertise it.

I met some guys on my base at the Acey Deucey club one night and we got to talking cars and trucks and eventually got to be wheeling buds. I had no idea they were all Seals until I ran into one of them in when he was in uniform. I just knew they worked over on an area that had a lot of security.
