Tim and Kelsey get lost..
I've known about the route for a long time, but it wasn't until the idea of biking it came to mind that I really wanted to go and do it.

The pics, video and words are up on my blog:

I agree that silt is a pain to ride in.

Kind of funny about marines out there. They have a spot where they setup camp in the middle of summer for training just sw of wellton.

Is Jon missing the rear on his 4runner?

Awww! That must have been it!

Missing the rear? The swing out you mean? He leaves it off for around town driving. The day we left he couldn't find the bearings for the pivot so he had to put the tire on the roof.

Wow is that a cool adventure. One I am not likely to ever wish to repeat, but fun to see you do it! I'd like to learn more about your bike. I like fixie's, and you'rs looks like 29" wheels. What is your set up? Also, is that amount of chain slack intentional?

Finally, this is an awesome photo:

I'm not man enough for a Fixie! I need to enjoy the sections of coasting when I can! :bike_rider:
It's a Niner SIR "Steel Is Real". Fully rigid, 29er. Very simple bike. It's cushier than people think because of the steel frame (Flexy), tubeless tires (low PSI), as long as you pick good lines! No, the chain slack was excessive, but to get it any tighter I'd need to take a link out of the chain and this gear is sort of my "flat land" gear so I rarely use it. I decided to run it even though the chain was pretty loose. If I were to go futher I'd take a link out of my chain. (It's an eccentric bottom bracket so it's got a couple inches of adjustment. Works great, no squeeks)

Thanks! I love that Photo. My better half took it while she was bored following me along.

Great trip. Do you know if Pozo Nuevo road was open?

Shoot, I wasn't looking for it so I can't say with any certainty.
