Electrical moron question...

This may be a dumb question to those that are good with electricity...I'm not one of those...
Is there anything that could be installed to a 12V battery to step the power up to 24V? Some kind of reverse inverter...? Uh...something?

Thanks a bunch...I figured there must be something out there to do it but I guess my Google-seek words of choice failed me...Someone should make a dictionary of useful phrases used to seek...haha.
As to its use...I may have stumbled across some ex mil lights. A couple are LEDs and a couple are the remote/search ones that are made by GOlite...But as far as I can tell they are 24V...and I don't own a duece and a half...yet. I'd like to run them either on my CJ8/Expo rig or maybe put the search ones on my tow rig/work truck...
