Ran Elvis and Upper Woodpecker with a group yesterday. Had a blast and only ended up with a semi-smashed exhaust tip and a screwed up mud flap.

Two stock vehicles made this run myself (black 4runner) and the blue 1st gen runner. The 1st gen did both trails I only did Elvis and rode along on the other.

Very nice! I've never been to Elvis, but have done Woodpecker in my basically stock FJ Cruiser... it was a great time. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like it was a fun run with a good turn out of Yotas. Nice to see some other SAS rigs. How is that area in general, camping, wheelin, back country access? A few of us were considering going to the AZrocks TTORA event but it is around 12 hours away from us and to me thats a long way to go for a playground type area, if I'm going to travel that far I want to be in the back country as deep as possible to see the real AZ. So we are tossing the idea around because if we head east instead of south east that takes us to Utah and I know there is challenging wheelin and plenty of back country to get away in. Any info will help, thanks.:REOutIceFishing:

The Florence/Superior area offers alot of backcountry areas, including some real technical trails located in remote areas.

AZ has ALOT of backcountry access. If you make it to AZRocks, make sure to run Martinez Canyon.

If I was trying to get as many great trails in as possible I would get this book. Then you can suppliment it with some secret or new trails that locals show you. There aren't a ton of unknown trails though. Most of the scenic trails that can be done "quickly" are in this book.
Good luck and let us know if you want to run a trail when you're headed out.

Thanks guy's, the fact that there are trails off the beaten path that are challenging is all I needed to hear. I will be sure to let you guy's know if we are going to make it, it would be cool to meet you guy's and Westy if you are still into showing us the area, we just might take you up on it, thanks for the offer!:smiley_drive:

Martinez is a great trail. The cabins have been utterly destroyed by bud-light drinking idiots, but the trail itself provides enough challenge to keep most people interested (I don't care if it is in a stock tacoma or a rock buggy---there are on-trail obstacles for everyone), and the scenery from the top is some of the best in the state.

How crazy do you want to get (for reference, they are 39.5's):

Is that your buggy? Thats a cool shot and crazy line. Maybe if the Taco was exoed I could attempt that line but I'm not going for that crazy just challenging enough for a SAS taco on 37's and away from the trail traffic of that weekend if possible. Bummer about the cabins, wish I could say that I was surprised but the majority of people suck. Thanks for the reply.

Please come to AZRocks. The wheeling is great and the scenery is too. Most of the people are great to deal with, only a very few mouth-breathing knuckle-heads. Would love to meet up with you. My brother will be driving down from Santa Maria.

That buggy belongs to a guy who goes by "Sean K" on the web... I've yet to see it in person, but it looks pretty crazy from all the pics.
