Engadget takes a look at three turn-by-turn navigators that work on cell phones. Tested are Google Navigator for Android, Ovi Maps for Nokia phones, and VZ Navigator from Verizon Wireless.

A few points mentioned:

Of the three, Ovi Maps has the best coverage outside USA

Ovi Maps works without a connection to the cell phone grid, the others need to be connected

VZ Navigator has the best warnings about changing traffic conditions

VZ Navigator costs $10 a month or $3 a day for short term use. The others are free

The article is worth a quick look.
