well with the expanding family it lloks like mr Dog will be relagated to the rear of the disco, baby will be taking the back seat.....

Mr dog will not be happy....

and the fridge will be moving to the trailer.......which means a longer stretch for cool drinks in route

The fridge produces cool beers on the inside but vents hot air through the rear.

So if its in a sealed box over time the heat of the fridge will heat the enclosure if unvented making it both current heavy and harder and heat up everything else in the same enclosure

if the enclosure is vented.....then its gets covered in dust etc...

How well does it work in an enclosed AT for example ?

Or has anyone fitted vents/

snorkle......yea I know a bit far fetched....but al least it will vent, minimise the dust entry and be high enough for wading rivers etc.

Any thoughts...whilst the Christmass lunch is slowly digesting ?....

Nothing to worry about with the Engle inside the trailer. No vent needed. It's much cooler inside the trailer, especially if there is a RTT on the top. You won't be opening and closing it as often when you are traveling vs. in camp.

Inside the vehicle the temps. are much higher and the compressor is always kicking in and giving off heat. If you are worried get a thermal insulation jacket for the fridge when you put it inside the trailer (also good for when you put it back into the vehicle).

If it's going inside the trailer consider a full slide so it can slide out over your tailgate. You do have a tailgate??

Enjoy an after dinner drink, I'll be eating this evening.

On my trailer's Gullwing front box I run an 84 Qt Waeco. The box is vented with a foam filtered exhaust near the top and paper filtered vent near the bottom. It works great at both venting and keeping all the dust out. The exhaust fan is mounted on the upper vent.

What also is a nice addition is the Two Zone wireless thermometer from Sierra Expeditions. From inside my truck I can read the internal fridge temp and the air temp of the storage box the fridge is sitting in. That gives you the peace of mind that the box is not getting too hot. :)

Not yet but the pieces are on the garage floor !!

and I'm still thinking of a side opener,,,,but a drop down is easier and don't have to worry about it drooping over time...

......the fridge will be in my front box with a door opening to the side,
and will have sliders of some desciption...still in the main frame welding stage.

there are some pics on the wide panier thread.

the lockandroll is on my christmas list so you'll be getting a call after crimbo.

My turkey is just being stuffed as we speak....

I do like the fans though......just in case and also the idea of the remote monitoring.............

but then I love gadgets
