I am in love with this Cruiser - but I can't find any good pics or info on it...
...anybody got anything? Is there a write-up on this rig anywhere?

Didn't they do a review of Paul's vehicle in the Overland Journal sometime ago ??

Now that you mention it - I think maybe they did.
...but I'm presently about 8,000 miles from my collection of OJs.

Man . . . :drool:

If I could find someone that would give me a good price for my Tacoma, I think I'd sell it and start over with a White 100 like this one. The more 100's I see the more and more I'm loving them!

White = Best
Luv the rack and lights

I didn't see the writeup and this 100 looks like most out there. What's so special about this one? Or is there a link to the write up?

I think this one was the first built 100 I ever saw.
...and it's built just about like I would do it. And it's the right color!

Going from a mildly built 01 Tacoma to a mildly built 03 UZJ100, the difference is stunning.
The landcruiser is smooth everywhere. Even with suspension upgrades (icon/deaver/ome), the tacoma never felt nearly as forgiving off road as the landcruiser (ome). Smoothness (hit absorption, sound deadening, traction in wet and snow) is very important to me as we spend long distances on 4wd Forest Service roads all year long.

Also, driving long distances with the landcruiser is a completely different story. Not nearly the same driver fatigue overall as in the tacoma. I can drive for much longer without discomfort.

The landcruiser is an outstanding platform for 2 person travel on rougher terrain for longer stretches of time. The interior space is very useable and with the right packing I can keep the second row seat in, even for multiple week travels.

The one downside being fuel consumption. 15-19 MPG with the tacoma (32's, 2-2.5" lift, sliders, rear bumper) and 12-17 mpg with the UZJ100 (32's, 2" lift, columbus RTT)

Overall, if you are able to sell the tacoma for the right price, I believe you will not regret your decision of purchasing an UZJ100.
