The staying local plan, ended up a 1700 mile trip. Due to much southern NM rain. Drove to Cortez, Hals Crossing, Burrtrail, Wolverine loop, Escalante, the Hole in the Rock, more or less backtraking the same way. (WHO was that white fullsize Bronco, lifted with the RTT, right at the Woverine intersection.?)

The scenery is amazing (known fact). The Hole in the Rock blows the mind of a horsedrawn teamster (me). Washboard is on my pooplist, and the only not so cool part. (Havent checked the balljoints yet.) Eyeballing the 50 mile bench, another time to go there (anyone driven that?) All trails were dry (almost) and easy. The TCase mainly stayed in High. We did end up with the redmud look, took 1/2 day to clean up again.
The Lake Powell, just doesnt look right. Having been a junior sailor, those marinas lack caracter, so quickly we go back to the deserts.
One last camp behind Combridge, with some big storms going off. No problem as our sleeping quarters are inside the truck. Back to Cortez.....and then south. We have great friends in Cortez to hang low a day (if servicing the truck is hanging low.)
