Estes Park, CO area August 2010

I drove out to the Estes Park area last month and spent a week playing around and spending time with my family.
Managed to get in a little wheeling, and just really enjoyed seeing the beautiful country out there. I saw my first bear in the wild - a large brown bear, but unfortunately didn't have my camera with me at the time. It was really, really cool to see.
Anyway, here's a few pics that I'd like to share. Enjoy.

I was the hummingbird whisperer. Little guy ran into a window. After a few minutes he kinda shook his little head and flew off. Amazing to hold something like this for a bit.

Yikes. Big rocks ahead!

Water crossing on Coney Flats trail. Not my Jeep - I was following these guys.

Cool pictures!

I was through there in about 2004. A guy in Estes Park gave me a 1965 Nissan Patrol. We picked it up and towed it through Rocky Mountain National Park. Awesome area!

Hey Darin. I didn't realize you went to Rollins during the same time
I met you in Estes. Great pictures. That's pretty amazing you
got to hold that hummingbird. Did you come at the pass from the trailhead at
Rollins? We came at it from the Winter Park side. From the end of the trail we were on it looked like the only thing blocking the trail was a gate.
