I then set about sorting out storage in the back for everyday use

Also Made up a Wading banket/ Rad Muff

I then started on My rear door, Plan is to have a cooker, storage and a wash basin wired into a 12v Pump on the back door :sombrero:

So there is stands at the moment

Still ALOT more to do

1) Fit CB radio
2) Diff Guards
3) Fit Snorkel
4) fit new tyres :bike_rider:
5) Light Guards
6) Fit Cubby Box

I have fitted rear seats for everyday use, but I am working on racking for the back to hold all my equipment for overlanding trips, the rear windows will be tinted as theres only going to the racking over them anyway lol

Ive already picked up things like shovel, pick axe, axe, saw not that I think Ill need them for a while. I also intend to get myself a bonnet that holds a spare wheel so I dont have to have them off the roof

My intentions are to finish it off and start getting out and about, Trips to Wales, lakes/peaks, Cornwall etc etc

Then Branch out to Europe ( alps etc etc )

Then hit Morrocco and then Africa

Got a week off work so should get a good amount of stuff done :)

Things like rocksliders, bush wires, exhaust, rooftent are on the list of things to buy etc etc

Hope you like it and sorry about all the pictures

Luke

Wow, very nice- petrol or NAD? You look a bit older than 18 doing the capping:)
I was most impressed by the addition of decent recovery points, well done and proper priorities. Envious of your proximity to 'far away lands', enjoy and keep the pics coming.
Cheers, and welcome aboard!!

Welcome Luke,

Nice work so far! Those seats look pretty comfortable-did you add them?

We in the USA are envious of the choices you all have there, in both travel and vehicles/engines.

Cheers for the warm welcome, I have fitted a 200tdi Engine into it :sombrero: and as for the seats I have actually taken them out as believe it or not the original seats are more comfortable :Wow1::Wow1: They were out of a rangerover but you sat up far to high and I didnt like it.

Ive also done loats of other bits to it but they cant be seen, well apart from photo's :wings::wings:

That was my first attempt at welding :peepwall::peepwall:

Wasnt too bad lol

Its all solid and painted so Im not too concerned

I also have a second battery to fit, which will run an inverter, spotlights, courtesy lights inside and out, well anything really, perhaps a winch but I cant afford that at the moment :bike_rider:

I am thinking about getting a set of HD springs due to the weight, but until Ive got it fully loaded with all the kit I wont know if I will or not

nice work. I thought they had killed it turning it into the van. Way to bring it back to life. Much better now.

It always amazes me how much a modern Defender has in common with my 47 year old IIa.
