Love my Expedition Ops mat. When its not getting bathed during showers, its the floor mat for my tent ladder. Adds a touch of civility to my rough style of camping. The misses like the fact that you can shower barefoot with out standing in your filth. Keep up the great work ExpOps!

Thanks, Kurt! I'm happy Candace likes it and that you do too.

rbrown,

What type of battery are you running, Deep Cycle or Starting? Difference for draws, general rule of thumb, you should never drop a deep cycle below 50% charge, starting battery should never drop below 70%.
If you aren't opposed to starting the truck and running it for some time during hot weather, heavy draw, then a 40 will work. If you don't want to crank lets talk about the rest of your electrical system.

Thanks,

Jeremy

It is a Toyota starting battery. Does your 80W panel supply enough power to handle the fridge(assume ARB 63) without having to startup the truck?

Assuming that you only have 30% battery capacity on your starting battery to safely use, the 80w will still require starting the truck and using the alternator, my "best guess" is the 120w will be your best bet for using this current setup.

Some of the other factors that come into play are, how often are you accessing the fridge, beers and buddies will warm a fridge quickly requiring more juice. How much sun are you getting thru out the day, what are the ambient air temps day and night, etc?

Personally, with my electrical demands, which are greater though I have a dual battery setup, I prefer the 80w panel: inverter, fridge, stereo, phone charging.

I have no personal experience with the 120w only the 40 and 80w.

Give me a call and we can chat over the pros and cons. 646.ExpedOp

Thanks,

Jeremy

I just wanted to add that I am also one of the lucky owners of Jeremy's floor mat.
He made a custom one for the shower in our Bigfoot and we are extremely satisfied with it!

Ben,

You do have the original! Two were made, I kept the prototype that I liked least and you got the one that became the future production design, of course several small improvements have been made since.

Bob,

Congrats on the nuptials. I'm glad you like your wedding present. Shoot us a picture of the Shower Mat in use when you get a chance.

Ben,

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the Expedition Ops Shower Mat in use down there. I'm losing sleep over how jealous I am of yours and Paul's trip with No Limit X. Mostly for the food, but also for the adventure and location.
